“Australia is failing new parents with conflicting advice – it’s urgent we get it right”

-
Infant Sleep.
It all begins with cued care- responding to your babies needs from a place of intuition. This does not involve any kind of sleep training or particular settling techniques. Instead evidence-based sleep support, that supports biological sleep, to support mum, bub and the whole family unit.
-
Cry fuss behaviours.
Crying and fussing behaviours can be a common challenge with a new bub. Learning to get to know your baby and their needs takes time. Supporting families to help them understand their babies communication, and assist adults to respond to their baby, to help reduce the impact of the crying and fussing.
-
Perinatal Mental Health.
Mental health is something that I often support parents with during the perinatal period. I often use the Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) framework for sessions. I am also trained as a Certified Clinical EFT Practitioner. I often teach this skill to parents to help them reduce everyday stress and support nervous system regulation.
-
Parenting.
Parenting is challenging, and it doesn’t come with a how to guide. I often support parents to build a relationship with their children by focusing on strengthening connections to create a relationship built on safety and trust. Supporting parents to align their parenting with their values, and reflecting on ways they were parented and how this may/ may not influence their own parenting style.
